Former South African batsman AB de Villiers shocked the entire cricketing community with his immediate retirement from international cricket in May this year. Many had expected the 2019 World Cup to be the swansong of the former Proteas captain, but it was not to be.

However, AB de Villiers didn’t leave his fans in sadness completely and announced that he will continue to play in the T20 leagues all over the world. Currently, he is participating in the Mzansi Super League in his home country.

In the opening match between Cape Town Blitz and Tshwane Spartans, De Villiers scored a fine half-century (59 off 30 balls), but what took the fans’ breathe away was his picture-perfect reverse sweep or switch hit. He played the shot in the 11th over of the match and the ball sailed over the boundary for a maximum.
