England opener Keaton Jennings is continuing with his outstanding all-around show against Sri Lanka but grabbed eyeballs especially with his wonderful fielding efforts in the ongoing enthralling series decider second Test of the three-match series on Saturday (November 17) at Pallekele.
At the moment, England is leading with 1-0 in the Test Series, but Sri Lanka are closing fill up the gap, as the hosts are only 82 runs away from a wonderful victory while chasing 301 runs at Pallekele, while three Lions are trying hard to pick up quick wickets to seal a rare overseas Test series victory.
After having cracked an unbeaten 146 in the Galle Test, Jennings has now shown his expertise in the field by taking a sensational catch and then a superb "assist" at short leg on day four of the second Test.
Firstly, Jennings, who was fielding at short leg, caught Dhananjaya de Silva out after he tried to sweep a Jack Leach delivery to the leg was an eye-catching moment at Pallekele.
Jennings used sharp reflexes as the ball swung to his right when Silva tried to turn a Leach delivery to leg, but the Englishman brilliantly maintained his balance and stick out his left hand to take a stunning catch.
The second one, the 26-year-old has returned to his best soon after the break, as he enthralled the Pallekele crowd with his smartness to team up with Ben Foakes to remove Dimuth Karunaratne terrifically.
Karunaratne notched up a brilliant half-century by smartly countering English spin attack here, but his one shot off Adil Rashid delivery to guide the ball towards fine leg did not work, as there was Jennings fielding at short leg dived to his left at short leg and, but he knew that he couldn't cling on to the catch, anyhow managed to parry the ball to Ben Foakes to complete an amazing catch.
