Former India pacer Zaheer Khan celebrated his 40th birthday on 7th October 2018. Zaheer, who is widely deemed as one of the greatest fast bowlers to have emerged from India, had received special messages from the cricketing fraternity on that day except for a strange but valuable wish from his former captain, Sourav Ganguly.
Taking to Twitter, Ganguly had wished Zak on completing 40 years before adding that the left-armer should lose some weight and become leaner again.
“Happy birthday @ImZaheer zed K.. have a great year ...please loose some weight...u were India’s strength,” Ganguly had tweeted.

How could anyone refuse to follow Dada’s command? Reacting on his first Indian captain’s tweet, Zaheer on Friday (October) wrote: “Time to team up again Dada and hit the gym . Will be calling you for the tips ???? Thank you for the wishes @SGanguly99”.

It is worth mentioning here that Zaheer Khan was among the fittest Indian cricketers during his playing days. He played a key role in Ganguly’s success as a captain in early 2000. Zaheer played a total of 124 matches under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly – 36 Tests, 88 ODIs, including an Asia XI match. The left-armer excelled playing under Ganguly, taking 232 wickets in 124 matches.
