Amitabh Bachchan turns 76 on October 11‘Actor of the century’ and one of the most loved celebrities around the world, Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating his 76th birthday today on October 11.

Born to noted Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan in Allahabad in 1942; Amitabh started his acting career in 1969 with Saat Hindustani but had to wait for more than 10 films to flop before getting his first big hit Anand in 1971. However, the era of Bachchan began with Zanjeer in 1973 and with movies like Deewar (1975), Sholay (1975), Chupke Chupke (1975) he firmly established himself as the leading man in Bollywood. This remained the status till the late 1980s to early 1990s.

Bachchan again became the most wanted actor in Bollywood and since the 2000s, is continuously working even at the age of 76, doing Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan in 2018.  Apart from more than 10 Filmfare Awards, Bachchan has a record five National Awards for best actor to his name as well.
