Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar is among the celebrities who had endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign. Staying true to his commitment, Tendulkar on Monday (October 1) took to the streets of Mumbai and spread awareness about this noble initiative.

Taking to Twitter, Sachin posted a video and captioned it as: “Spent an amazing afternoon with a few young citizens who came together for an important cause. To all the kids of the Pali-Chimbai Municipal School, you’re ambassadors of #SwachhBharat now. Had so much fun getting the area clean and playing cricket with you all! @swachhbharat.”

In the video, the batting maestro urged everyone to be a part of this great programme and do their bit to make India a cleaner and greener place to live in. He also played cricket with the kids.

About a year ago, PM Modi wrote a personalized letter to celebrities, industrialists and eminent personalities to support the initiative. In the letter, the honorable PM had cited Mahatma Gandhi’s beliefs and said that people in the country should participate in cleanliness campaigns.

Apart from Tendulkar, Bollywood actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Swara Bhaskar and others have also pledged their support to this noble cause.
