September 13, 2018, marks the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. This occasion is celebrated for the birth of Lord Ganesh, who is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The festival celebrates Lord Ganesha as the God of New Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence.
This festival is celebrated with much joy and pomp in states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Telangana, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh.
