Gautam Gambhir has shown a heart touching gesture on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The Indian cricketer got rakhi tied by the transgenders and shared picture on his official Twitter account.

According to the ritual, the sister ties rakhi (a thread) on brother's wrist and in return the brother assures to protect her.

Posting the picture, Gambhir wrote, "It’s not about being a man or a woman. It’s about being a HUMAN.” With proud transgenders Abhina Aher and Simran Shaikh and their Rakhi love on my hand. I’ve accepted them as they are. Will you? #respecttransgenders."

Transgenders struggle to get equal status in the society just like the other two genders. They have to face a lot of piteous situations in day-to-day life as people see the transgenders as different from them. Things are changing gradually and with celebrities like Gambhir doing their bit it will bring positivity for sure.

The Delhi cricketer Gambhir had a poor outing in the Indian Premier League 2018. He was made the captain of the Delhi Daredevils franchise, but it turned out to be a disaster for the 36-year-old. Not only he was removed as captain, Gambhir got dropped from the side as well. His scores read 4, 3, 8, 15, and 55.
