Indian cricket fraternity wishes the country on the holy occasion of Eid

August 22 marks the celebration of Eid-al-Adha all over the world.

Eid-al-Adha 2018Today, August 22, 2018, marks the holy occasion of Eid-al- Adha, which is also known as the festival of sacrifice. It is the second of the two Islamic festivals to be celebrated all over the world, with Eid-al-Fitr being the other one.

It honors the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command. Before Abraham could sacrifice his son, God provided a ram to sacrifice instead. In accordance with this, an animal is sacrificed and divided into three parts. One part is given to poor and needy, another third is given to relatives, friends, and neighbors; and the remaining third is retained by the family.

The Indian cricket fraternity took to Twitter to wish the nation and followers of Islam on this holy occasion of Eid.
