Former South Africa captain and one of the greatest batsman of his generation, AB de Villiers is known for his simplicity and his love for India.

Recently, the state of Kerala has been hit badly due to floods thanks to continuous torrential rains. More than 300 people have lost their lives and millions have been displaced by the floods. The Centre on Thursday deployed all three wings of the armed forces in a massive rescue operation.

AB de Villiers took to Twitter to send across his prayers and wishes for the victims of the Kerala floods. De Villiers tweeted, “My thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by the terrible floods in Kerala!!! More than 100 dead and 200,000 left homeless.. terrible! #KeralaSOS #KeralaDonationChallenge”

Helicopters airlifted stranded families from rooftops and dam gates were thrown open as incessant torrential rain brought fresh havoc. Pathanamthitta district in Central Kerala has been the worst affected in the last 24 hours as thousands of people and students, among others, were trapped in their homes in Ranni, Aranmula, and Kozhencherry.
