The three-time Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away on August 16. The announcement was made by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) about the death of the 93-year-old who was being treated for past nine weeks.
Like whole India, cricketers too took to social media to condole the demise of one of India's most loved politicians. Indian skipper Virat Kohli also mentioned the former Indian captain Ajit Wadekar in his tweet along with Vajpayee. Wadekar died at the age of 77 on August 15 after a prolonged illness.
"A sombre day for us as we mourn the loss of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji and Legendary Indian Captain Ajit Wadekar sir. May your souls rest in peace. India and its millions will always remember you fondly," wrote Kohli in his tweet.
