Usain Bolt - inarguably the greatest athlete on the planet is respected and admired by everyone and one of them amongst those is the India cricket captain Virat Kohli. In fact, both the sportsperson have a massive fan following and have earned innumerable accolades in their respective arenas over the years.

On Monday (August 6), both the sporting legends shared a delectable Twitter conversation that became the talk of the town. Kohli challenged Bolt with a pair of cricket spikes at stake while the sprinter put his favourite spikes on the line.

The Indian captain posted a tweet which read: “Yo @usainbolt, bet a pair of my favourite Cricket spikes, you can’t guess which Indian cricketer is coming on board with @PUMA next! Just caught wind of the news…”

Just a few minutes later, Bolt replied saying, “Yow @imVkohli , I got the news already! I’m betting a pair of my favorite PUMA Running spikes – I know who this is! He’s fast (but not as fast as me). Let’s wait and see who wins.”

It is worth mentioning here that Virat and Boult share a very healthy camaraderie. About a year ago, Kohli had congratulated the 100-meter world record holder on his retirement by posting a video on Twitter.

“Hey, Usain! I know it’s your last race we are going to miss you a lot on the track. From me and everyone in the Puma family, we wish you all the very best for this one and all your future endeavours. If you ever wanna play cricket you know where to find me,” Kohli has said in the video message.

After his heroics in the first Test against England at Edgbaston, Virat has now jumped past Steve Smith to clinch the no. 1 spot in ICC’s latest Test rankings for batsmen.

Kohli, who recorded the scores of 149 and 51 in India’s 31-run defeat at Edgbaston, gained 31 points to end Smith’s 32-month reign as the numero uno Test batsman. The Indian captain (934 rating points) now leads Smith by five points but will have to maintain the form in the remaining four Tests to finish the series as the world’s highest-ranked batsman.

Lord’s will host the second Test match between England and India from Thursday (August 9).
