Vinod Kambli celebrates his friendship with Sachin Tendulkar on the occasion of Friendship day. Kambli, who is a childhood friend of Sachin, took Twitter to call their friendship as strong as Jay and Veeru of the movie Sholay.

Kambli’s post was captioned, “On field you are the greatest that the game could produce, off the field, you are Jay and me, Veeru… On this friendship day all I want to say is.. @sachin_rt “Ye dosti hum nahi todenge.. Todenge dam magar tera saath na chodenge.”

It's not that things were good between Sachin and Kambli a few years back. Both had rift after Kambli appeared in the show Sach Ka Saamna and spoke ill about his buddy.

Sachin had not even mentioned his name in his post-retirement speech which hurt Kambli and he said, "I am deeply hurt. I was expecting my name to be part of his farewell speech. If anything for our famous partnership. Its that world record partnership that was the turning point of our careers. That's when everyone came to know who is Vinod and Sachin. I had a hand in that and our careers started from there. I thought he could have mentioned that part at least.

The other shocking part was all his teammates, friends and family were invited to the party after retirement and I was not invited. My family and I were upset, sad and disturbed. I have been part of Sachin's life from being 10 years old, off the field as well. We have shared lot of good and bad times. I have always been there for him. All I can say that he has forgotten me," he opens up speaking to Headlines Today.

But last year they both met and a picture of them in the same frame was all over the social media.
