The green challenge that was initiated by Telangana government under ‘Haritha Haram’ campaign is garnering national attention, with legendary India cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, and VVS Laxman now taking up the challenge.

Tendulkar accepted the challenge thrown to him by IT Minister KT Rama Rao. The batting maestro shared a few pictures of the saplings he planted and thanked Rama Rao for nominating him.

“Thank you, @KTRTRS, for nominating me for the green challenge #HarithaHaram. I accept the challenge and hope all of you do too. The key to a greener planet is in our hands,” Sachin wrote on Twitter.

Endorsing this great initiative, Laxman also accepted the challenge wholeheartedly and planted tree saplings. He also nominated Virender Sehwag, Mithali Raj, and PV Sindhu to carry forward this movement.

“The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies. Great initiative @KTRTRS ,I have planted pomegranate, water apple & Laxman Phal saplings . I nominate @virendersehwag , @M_Raj03 & @Pvsindhu1  to plant 3 trees, nurture them and make #HarithaHaram a sustainable movement,” VVS tweeted.
