The least you want while batting is throwing your wicket in a mix-up with your partner. Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik almost got away with a run-out against Essex in a warm-up game ahead of the England vs India Test series.

Pandya flicked Essex bowler Paul Walter from his pads and called Karthik for a run, who thought it was a risky single. Pandya stopped mid-way as Karthik didn't respond to his call and went back in the crease gesturing to Karthik that it was an easy single.

Who knows better than the all-rounder how frustrating a run-out is. Karthik and Pandya have been engaged in mix-ups earlier too. In one-off Test against Afghanistan, the wicket-keeper batsman lost his wicket while attempting to get back in the crease, as he was sent back by Hardik, after calling him for a run.

Karthik had a mid-pitch talk with Pandya and tried to pacify his agitated partner.

In the first day of only India's only warm-up game against Essex, the tourists scored 322 for the loss of six wickets. Murali Vijay, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Karthik (82*) scored half-centuries.
