WATCH: Sarfaraz Ahmed gives up gloves to pull off a 'Dhoni' but couldn't succeed

The incident happened during Pakistan's last ODI against Zimbabwe.

MS Dhoni has given up keeping gloves several times just to grab the ball and stretch his arms. We have seen him bowling and he even picked up a wicket against West Indies during the ICC Champions Trophy 2009. It was his first ODI scalp and his victim was Travis Dowlin, who was cleaned up by the part-timer.

Not only that, he once almost got the Sri Lankan great Mahela Jayawardena in Champions Trophy 2013. Dhoni had got the ball in sharply and that got the better of Jayawardena. However, luckily, the right-hander nicked the ball and got away with an embarrassing dismissal.

Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed tried to do something similar against Zimbabwe in a dead rubber. Already 4-0 up in the series Sarfaraz rolled his arm over and handed over the keeping gloves to Fakhar Zaman and tried out bowling.

The captain bowled his first over of his career and conceded just 6 runs. But when he came back in the last over again, Sarfaraz was smashed for a huge six by Zimbabwe's Peter Moor over the mid-wicket region.

Eventually, Pakistan succeeded in whitewashing Zimbabwe 5-0. The hosts posed no threat to the tourists and it was almost a cakewalk for the men in green.
