English cricketers show support to England football team after their loss to Croatia

England lost to Croatia in the semifinal by 2-1 and crashed out of the FIFA World Cup 2018.

It's not coming home for England football team as they faced a painful defeat at the hands of Croatia in the FIFA World Cup 2018 semifinal. Croatia beat England 2-1 with the second goal coming for Croatia in the last minutes of extra time.

Croatia will now face France in the final in Moscow on Sunday. England are set to play against Belgium in Saturday's 3-4 place play-off in St. Petersburg.

The distress of English footballers was shared by fans and cricketers on Twitter. From Jason Roy to Matt Prior all lauded the effort.

"Win lose or draw if any English sports team is one you can be proud of then they have done their job. Well done @GarethSouthgate & the whole @england football team. Great job. #FifaWorldCup18 #EngvsCro," tweeted Prior.

England opener Roy praised the footballers for their incredible effort. "Did us proud @England. You brought the nation together like I’ve never seen before. Incredible effort and I’m sure everyone is as proud as I am #WorldCupRussia ⚽️," he wrote.

Michael Vaughan was disappointed after the loss. "Sport should not make you feel this Sad ... But it always does !!! ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????," the former cricketer tweeted. 

The women cricketer Alexandra Hartley thanked the football team for bringing the nation together. "Absolutely gutted for the England boys!! You’ve done your nation proud and you have made every single one of us at home believe! You’ve brought the nation together and 100% created an unforgettable summer for all football fans. Hold your heads high! #ThreeLions," she tweeted.
