Football fever took over the England cricketers as they tried penalty shootouts ahead of the ODI series against India starting from Thursday. England's side split up into two teams - bibs vs non bibs - to experience the thrill of a penalty shoot-out.

The England all-rounder Ben Stokes turned out to be the hero after pulling off a 'Jordan Pickford' level save in the friendly encounter. As seen in the video shared by England cricket's official Instagram account, Stokes did well to anticipate and save Moeen Ali's shoot diving to his right.

"Phone call from Russia incoming @stokesy! What do you reckon @jpickford1 @england? ????????????????????????????⚽️????," wrote England cricket sharing the video of Stokes.

Here is the video of Stokes' heroic save in the penalty shootout:

Pickford had done something similar against Sweden to ensure his team's qualification for FIFA World Cup 2018 semifinal. However, England lost in the semifinal against Croatia by 2-1.

The England cricket team had also lost the T20I series against men in blue and now they have a chance to payback. Eoin Morgan-led side and India are set to clash in the first ODI at Trent Bridge. The game is expected to be high scoring and hence the team standing tall with the ball will have the upper hand in the encounter.
