Amidst his ceaseless tweets and numerous posts on other social media sites, Vaughan, on Saturday (July 7) shared former India skipper Sourav Ganguly’s WhatsApp exchange with him on England vs Sweden game.

It was a crucial match for England at the Samara Arena as they were determined to seal their spot in the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup after 28 years. And all it took was two goals by headers and two strong saves for England to produce a stunning 2-0 victory over Sweden.

Harry Maguire and Dele Alli found the back of the net either side of half-time as England cruised to a deserving victory, setting them up with a semi-final against Croatia on Wednesday.

As soon as Maguire struck the first goal for England, Ganguly texted Vaughan One nil up” and the Englishman posted the screenshot of the message on Instagram.

"Thanks for letting us know Sourav ......" Vaughan wrote in the caption.
