Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik revealed in the talk show 'Breakfast with Champions' that there was a stage when he wanted to quit cricket. He started to doubt whether he will play for India again or not. But one man walked into his life and changed everything.

The name is very familiar to cricket world, Abhishek Nayar. The Mumbai cricketer made Karthik a completely different man. As said by the wicket-keeper himself, when he started living with Nayar, he was out of his comfort zone. The 34-year-old Abhishek did everything he could do to bring Karthik back on track.

It once looked like his career would sink and he will be remembered only when someone discusses how MS Dhoni's career started. But it didn't happen and the Kolkata Knight Riders skipper is still in contention for World Cup 2019.

Apart from the struggle, Karthik discussed his relationship with the Indian opener Rohit Sharma. He said, "We've had some great times together. We tend to give each other the choicest abuses, making people around us wonder what's wrong. But Rohit's a great guy and I love hanging out with him."

The 33-year-old went on to reveal that Rohit has used his bat to score runs in T20 World Cup 2007. He also added that there are few more batsmen who used his bat and scored important runs. Karthik named Unmukt Chand who used his bat in the World Cup U-19 final against Australia to score a ton and win the game for India U-19.

While he made fun of Rohit for being forgetful, Karthik said that he is also an absent-minded guy. "That's one of the things I want to change about myself. Supposed you're talking to me, I'll just get lost and that sometimes comes across as rude. A lot of times I switch on my phone to do something, but by the time it opens I forget what I wanted to do," he said.

There were many anecdotes but Karthik picked the one from Champions Trophy 2004 to tell. The cricketer revealed when he was just 18-19 years old, he literally had a clash with the then skipper Sourav Ganguly.

While team India was amid of a tensed situation in the game against arch-rivals Pakistan, Karthik, the water boy, had run towards the team huddle carrying drinks. But unfortunately, he could stop himself at the right time and went on to clatter with Ganguly, who said, "Ye kaun hai, kaha kaha se pakad ke laate ho?"
