India's veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh turned 38 on July 3 and his social media was filled with many birthday wishes. Among the many, only Sachin Tendulkar managed to pull off a subtly hilarious birthday tweet.
While wishing the offie, Sachin tweeted in Tamil. "விஷ் யு எ வெரி ஹாப்பி பர்த்டே, @harbhajan_singh! ஹவ் எ ப்ளாஸ்ட்," his tweet read. It translates to 'Happy Birthday Harbhajan Singh, have a blast" in English.
While many would not have got it, the tweet in Tamil was a dig at Harbhajan who had started tweeting in Tamil as soon as he was picked by Chennai Super Kings in IPL auction. It was the 38-year-old Indian spinner's way to attract fans from South India.
We are sure Harbhajan would have needed a translator himself to read Sachin's birthday message, or has he spent enough time with the guy who wrote tweets in Tamil for him?
Harbhajan, who was the part of Chennai Super Kings' IPL 2018 win, has represented India in 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is, picking up 711 international wickets.
