David Warner is all set to resume his competitive cricket journey after the infamous ball-tampering scandal. Warner will play for Winnipeg Hawks in the inaugural edition of the Global T20 Canada League, starting from Thursday (June 28).

Ahead of the much-awaited T20 tournament, Afghanistan’s leg-spin sensation Rashid Khan has conveyed his best wishes for the former Aussie opener.

On Tuesday (June 26), Rashid took to Twitter and wrote: “Good luck dear  @davidwarner31 bro for the @GT20Canada  will pray for your  top performance and I believe you will do it like always you did Best wish ????????????????????????????????”.

Rashid and Warner share a very good camaraderie. The duo play for the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise in the Indian Premier League.

Cricket Australia had imposed a one-year ban on Warner for his involvement in the ball-tampering plot at Newlands in March. Besides Warner, CA had also issued severe punishments on former Australia captain Steve Smith and rookie opener Cameron Bancroft. While Smith was suspended for 12 months, Bancroft was barred from international cricket for a period of 9-month.

It is worth mentioning here that Warner and Smith had lost their million dollars deal in IPL 2018 for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals respectively. The BCCI had barred them from participating in the cash-rich event following Cricket Australia’s harsh sanctions.
