Former Indian cricket team openers Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar were delighted by the news of India beating Argentina in hockey Champions Trophy.

Earlier, the Indian team had crushed Pakistan by 4-0 and that has created a lot of buzz on social media. This win against Argentina, current Olympics champions, is much bigger than the previous one. The opponents were tough, but the men in blue still managed to emerge as the winner after goals from Harmanpreet Singh (17′) and Mandeep Singh (28’) gave India a lead before Gonzalo Peillat (30′). The win ensures India maintain their place at the top of the Champions Trophy.

Sehwag is hoping for India to continue their good run. "Congratulations @TheHockeyIndia on the wonderful win over Argentina in the #HCT2018 . May you keep up the good run," he tweeted.

Sachin gave a special mention to the 31-year-old Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awardee Sardar Singh for completing 300 international caps for India.

The weekend just got better for the Indian cricket great. "Fantastic weekend for the @TheHockeyIndia team beating Argentina after a stellar win yesterday. Special mention to @imsardarsingh8 on playing his 300th game for India! #ChampionsTrophy. #INDvARG," he wrote
