India batsman Rohit Sharma completed 11 years in international cricket on Saturday (June 23). The elegant right-hander has made his India debut against Ireland in an ODI game at Belfast back in 2007.

Sharma along with his India teammates landed in Ireland on Saturday as the Men in Blue are slated to play a two-match T20I series against the Irish team on June 27 and 29.

Recalling his memories from the country where he started this beautiful cricketing journey, Rohit tweeted: “Life has come full circle; this day that year I made my debut for India and today I’m right back where it all began #Ireland.”

Rohit has come a long way ever since his debut match. The Mumbaikar boasts of quite a few world records to his name. He is the proud owner of the highest individual ODI score — 264 (against Sri Lanka in 2014). Moreover, he is the only batsman in the history of ODI cricket to score three ODI double tons.

During his 11-year long cricket career thus far, Sharma has amassed 6594 ODI runs in 180 matches at an average and strike-rate of 44.55 and 86.96 respectively. He also has 17 ODI tons and 3 Test tons to his name and is the only Indian batsman to score two Twenty20 international centuries.  Rohit has also played a key role in India’s 2007 ICC World T20I triumph and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy title wins.
