Shikhar Dhawan has come out speaking against the animal abuse. The cruelty to animals has increased these days and the Indian skipper shared a recent incident on his Instagram account.

Dhawan shared a picture of a pet dog in which its right eye seems to be injured. The batsman appealed and asked everyone to treat the animals with care. 

His post read, "Dear friends, Mere ek dost ne is street dog ko apnaya hua hai aur uski bahut dekhbaal karta hai. Kal jab yeh baahar tha toh kisi ne iski ek aankh phodh di. Yeh bahut dukh ki baat hai.
 
"Yeh baat bata kar mein aapse yeh hi kehna chahata hoon ki hume is tara in bejubaan jeevo ko nahi sataana chahiye. Agar aap kisi ka bhala nahi kar sakte, toh aapko kisi ka nuksaan bhi nahi pahuchaana chahiye. Ek insaaniyat ke naate bhi hume street dog sahit har jeev ka sammaan karna chahhiye. Woh bhi jeev hai, unko bhi dard hota hai. 

"Is liye haath jod kar meri aapse yeh hi request hai ki aap is cheez ka sada dhyan rakhe aur sabhi jaanvaro ki dekhbaal kare. Woh bhi humari zindagi ka ek hissa hai. Unka bhi jeene ka utna hi haq banta hai jitna humara ya kisi aur ka."

Shikhar also has a pet dog named Terri. Before leaving for IPL 2018, he had shared wrote, "I will miss my sweetheart Terri a lot! She left us yesterday with loads of memories to cherish for the rest of my life! She spread happiness wherever she went. No one can ever replace her! Love you Terri????."
