21st June of every year is celebrated as International Yoga Day or International Day of Yoga worldwide since 2015. 21st June is the longest day in Northern Hemisphere and hence it was chosen on the insistence of Indian PM Narendra Modi.

Yoga is the ancient India practice of mental, physical and spiritual calmness. Many celebrities have been sharing photos and videos of themselves doing Yoga on the International Day of Yoga. Even PM Modi celebrated this day by doing Yoga with 50,000 volunteers.

One such celebrity is Indian cricket team member Suresh Raina. Raina shared photos and videos of himself doing Yoga. He captioned his posts as “Stretching, breathing and a good session of yoga that’s how my #internationaldayofyoga2018 started! How about you? Fuel your body with some yoga and breathing! #YogaDay

Narendra Modi in his address to UNGA had said, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies the unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day.
