The passion for fitness among the current crop of Indian cricketers is not something new. Most of the Indian cricketers nowadays look leaner and follow a disciplined diet chart. No wonder, their overall performance and especially the fielding department has grown by leaps and bounds in the last five years.
On Tuesday (June 19), India batsman Ajinkya Rahane shared a video of his intense training session on micro-blogging site Twitter. In the 16-second long clip, Rahane can be seen running in the treadmill with utmost intensity.
“The more you push out of your comfort zone the stronger you get ! ????♂️????♂️ “ Rahane wrote in the caption of the video.
Rahane recently led India against the Test debutants Afghanistan in the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, who is going through the rehabilitation period after suffering a neck injury in IPL 2018. Under Rahane’s captaincy, India thrashed Afghanistan by an innings and 262 runs in just two days.
Team India’s next big assignment is in England where they will play five Tests before featuring in the limited-overs series, comprising of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. Given that Rahane boasts a good track record on English soil in Tests, he is expected to play a vital role in the forthcoming series.
