India cricket captain Virat Kohli is fairly vocal on social media concerning a variety of national issues. In fact, Kohli himself leaves no stone unturned to make a difference to the society whether by involving in charity works or public activities.

Virat has often expressed his wish to see India as a sporting rich country. Moreover, he has inspired a generation of budding athletes with his intense fitness regime and healthy diet. Kohli also supports Government of India’s causes such as ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and ‘Hum Fit Toh India Fit.

On Saturday (June 16), Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma have done their bit by trying to raise awareness about cleanliness.

The India skipper posted a video on Twitter in which Anushka was seen scolding some people for throwing garbage out of the car on the road.

Soon after Virat’s post went viral, Twitterati started taking a dig at him by terming the video as a publicity stunt and a part of paid campaign. In fact, some of them trolled Kohli for filming a video when his wife was arguing with a stranger on the road.

All sorts of nasty remarks certainly didn’t go down too well with the Indian captain as he posted a second tweet stating: “A lot of people who don’t have the courage to do something like this find it funny. Everything for people nowadays is meme content. Shame.”

Virat is currently going through the rehabilitation period after suffering a neck injury during the IPL. The neck sprain also ruled him out of his maiden county stint for Surrey.

On Friday (June 15), Kohli has appeared at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for yo-yo test. Reportedly, he has cleared the fitness test and is expected to tour Ireland for two T20Is later this month.
