Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal made his ODI debut for India on 11 June 2016 against Zimbabwe at Harare. He received his India cap from none other than MS Dhoni, the Indian skipper at the time.

Chahal, who became India's 211th ODI player, completed two years in international and he couldn't stop himself from expressing his joy on Twitter.

The Haryana cricketer wrote, "Coming from a small town of Jind in Haryana,I never thought I would go on n represent my country. But If you dream big, work hard with sincerity, dreams do come true.2 yrs ago on this day,my dream came true whn I gt my India cap frm the legend itself @msdhoni #twoyearsbleedingblue."

Chahal is now a key member of Indian limited overs team with consistent performances. The 27-year-old had revealed about a funny incident from his debut game. When he first played for India, Dhoni asked Chahal to not call him 'sir'. But, hilariously, he replied, "Ok sir."

“I received the ODI cap from MS Dhoni. He is a legend and the first time I met him I was not even able to talk in front of him. When I met him for the first time in Zimbabwe I used to call him Mahi Sir. After a while, he called me over and said, ‘Mahi, Dhoni, Mahendra Singh Dhoni or Bhai… Call me whatever you want but not sir’,” revealed Chahal on the show Breakfast with Champions.

Chahal returned with figures of one wicket for 27 runs in his 10 overs quota on his ODI debut.
