Sussex opening batsman Luke Wright on Tuesday (June 5) heaped praise on India speedster Ishant Sharma, who had a remarkable two-month stint with the same county side. Ishant was in full throttle with the ball for Sussex. The lanky pacer claimed 15 wickets in 4 first-class matches earlier in the season while he scalped 8 wickets in 6 List A games.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Wright wrote: “Massive thank you to @ImIshant for your amazing efforts for the team. We could not ask for a more dedicated overseas player and a lovely funny man off the pitch. Good luck and see you over here soon mate. ????”

It is worth mentioning here that Ishant did not feature in Sussex’s last match against Essex in the ongoing Royal London One-Day Cup on Sunday (June 3). The nature and extent of the injury is yet to be determined.
Ishant’s injury has come at a wrong time given the fact that he is part of the 16-men India Test squad which will take on Test debutants Afghanistan in Bangalore from June 14. The 29-year-old will now have to prove his fitness prior to the game. As per a report in the Indian Express, all the players have been asked to clear yo-yo test before the Afghanistan game.
