Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli got his statue at the famous Madame Tussauds in Delhi. The ace batsman joined legendary cricketers like Kapil Dev and Sachin Tendulkar, and footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, who have been featured in the wax museum.

First pictures of his statue were revealed on social media by the Delhi Times. Virat is seen in his batting stance and ready to face a delivery bowled at him. The wax statue looks too real to differentiate with the original one.

Sharing the pictures, the news agency wrote, "For all those @imVkohli fans who have prayed at least once to run into him someday, the cricketer's wax statue just took permanent residence in Delhi. Here's his unwavering intense gaze, just for you! #MadameTussauds."

Fans were waiting for this day eagerly. Virat, who himself was excited to see his statue, had asked his fans to come and visit the museum and click selfies with his wax statue at Madame Tussauds.

About the statue, Kohli had said, “It’s a great honor to be chosen as one of the figures at Madame Tussauds. All thanks to the Madame Tussauds team who were extremely patient during the sitting sessions and for giving me a lifetime memory.”

The expert artists had taken over 200 specific measurements of Kohli. Merlin Entertainments India Pvt. Ltd. General Manager Anshul Jain said, “We are thrilled to announce the Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli’s figure as the 23rd attraction. He holds the heart and respect of every Indian and a perfect choice to have him as our next Figure. We are confident that Virat’s wax figure will be a major draw for his fans not only from India but from around the world as he is one of the great cricketers that the world has seen.”
