India skipper Virat Kohli had suffered a neck injury while fielding in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s last league match against the Rajasthan Royals on May 19. Subsequently, Kohli’s much-anticipated county stint with Surrey came to a halt as he was advised by BCCI’s medical team to take rest before the all-important England tour, scheduled to start on July 3.

Provided that Virat is now being ruled out of the county stint and also won’t feature in the one-off Test against Afghanistan later this month, he is currently going through the rehabilitation period.

On Monday (June 4), the Indian captain took to social photo site Instagram and revealed the factors which keep him motivated during this testing phase.

Kohli posted a video clip with a caption raeding: “Focus and determination are my keys to build strength during this time. ???? #Ignite for my soundspiration!”

In the video, Virat said: “Hey guys… As you know every game is a battle field. Working out and keeping myself fit is what helps me push my limits. True focus in your support and I will keen those moments. And of course, my music that always stays with me and these helps me enhance my music experience. So keep supporting and I will keep focusing and pushing forward. Cheers.”

It is worth mentioning here that Kohli had opted to play county cricket for Surrey to improve his batting prowess on English soil. Even though Virat has conquered more or less every condition with his willow, he has not been able to perform at his best in England. With just 134 runs in five Test matches at a dismal average of 13.40, doing well in England is a top priority for the India captain.

India’s tour of England will kick off from July 3 where they will play three T20Is and as many ODIs before featuring in a five-match Test series from August 1.
