Waqar Younis sends a wonderful message on Twitter after meeting a young fan

Former Pakistan fast bowler, captain, and coach Waqar Younis is a legend of the game. Regarded as one of the fastest and most skillful bowlers of his time, Waqar played cricket for Pakistan from 1989 to 2003.

Making his debut in the same Test as Sachin Tendulkar in 1989, Waqar went onto have a storied career in the 90s, when he and Wasim Akram terrorized the batsmen with their pace, swing and reverse swing. Waqar missed out on the 1992 World Cup glory due to a back injury but played till the 2003 World Cup, where he captained Pakistan.

Waqar ended his career with 373 wickets in 87 Tests and 416 wickets in 262 ODIs. Along with Wasim Akram, he formed one of the deadliest pace bowlers combinations in the history of cricket and on his own, Waqar has popularity all over the world.

Waqar also had a storied rivalry with India and even came to the Indian tour of 1999, participating in the historic Two Test series.

Recently, Waqar was in England, promoting the 2019 World Cup, where he met a young fan wearing the India team shirt. Waqar tweeted a photo with a wonderful message saying, “Cricket have no boundaries !!@cricketworldcup
