Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) reached the playoffs in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) season 11. KKR picked some new and promising players in their side during the auction.
Shubman Gill, one of India's U-19 World Cup stars, was also part of the team and had a decent debut in IPL, scoring 203 runs with an average of 33.83.
In the game against Chennai Super Kings, the 18-year-old was promoted in the batting order and as per captain Dinesh Karthik's expectations, he scored his debut IPL fifty to win the game for his team.
Gill and Karthik had added an unbroken 83 runs off just 36 balls. The youngster remained not out on 57 off 36 balls as he hit two sixes and six fours against MS Dhoni-led side.
After a satisfying season, Gill returned to the home and his mother was waiting for him. The video of Shubman hugging his mother is going viral on social media.
