English cricketer Danielle Wyatt will be flying to India for the Women’s T20 Challenge Match which is set to be played at the Wankhede Stadium on 22 May ahead of the VIVO IPL 2018 Qualifier 1, the BCCI announced.

BCCI is planning a Women's IPL and as part of the build-up, famous women cricketers like Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Suzie Bates and Harmanpreet Kaur will take part in a T20 exhibition game later this month.

“We are planning to get a women’s IPL in place in two to three years,” Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) administrator Vinod Rai told AFP.

Wyatt looked very excited by the news. She expressed her delight on Twitter and wrote, "Can’t wait for this! ???? Back to Mumbai ☺️???????? ????."

The English cricketer was in India recently as a part of England women's team squad which toured here for a  T20 tri-series (including Australia) and an ODI bilateral series.

Young India U-19 men cricketer Shubman Gill responded to Wyatt's tweet and told her the wait is worth as it is going to be a big platform for women cricketers. "The wait will be worth it. Hahah. Welcome to India," wrote the youngster who is playing IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders.
