Playing his very first game for Kings XI Punjab this season, Chris Gayle notched up a quickfire fifty off 22 balls. Gayle was a late addition to the side and he is certainly proving that right.
Winning the toss, Chennai Super Kings asked Kings XI Punjab to bat first as Chris Gayle started tonking the ball from the very first delivery he faced.
It was Gayle's breezy knock which provided a kickstart to the Punjab innings as they reached 100 in 8.4 overs to be exact. Chris Gayle was finally dismissed on 63 from 33 balls.
Here is how the Twitterverse reacted to the 'Gayle-storm' from the big Jamaican:
Chris Gayle is back and how! Terrific batting by the big man and KL Rahul. Should be an exciting inning to watch! #KXIPvCSK #ipl2018 #starsports
