Quetta Galdiators met with Peshawar Zalmi in the crunch eliminator match of the PSL 2018 on March 20th.
Zalmi batted first and scored 156 runs thanks to Liam Dawson’s 62 and couple of 20 odd run innings from Tamim Iqbal and Mohd Hafeez as Rahat Ali picked 4/16 to keep them from going over 180.
Mohd Nawaz and Sarfraz Ahmed both hit 35 to keep Quetta in the match, but it all came down to 25 runs off the last over to win. Liam Dawson bowled the last over and got hit for a four and three sixes by Anwar Ali.
The equation came down to Quetta needing 3 to win the Eliminator match off the last ball, Anwar Ali was on strike and hit the last ball to the long on where he was dropped. However the non-striker Mir Hamza wasn't aware enough and forgot to come back for the second run, which would have sent the match into a super over and got run out.
Peshawar Zalmi won by one run, eliminating Quetta Gladiators out of the tournament.
