Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi or Shahid Afridi celebrates his 38th birthday today.
Born in 1980 in Khyber Agency, Federally Administered Tribal Areas in Pakistan, Shahid Afridi made his Pakistan debut at the age of 16 in 1996 against Kenya in the Sameer Cup, but didn’t get to bat and went wicket less.
However, he took everyone by surprise in his next match as he was sent in as a pinch hitter against Sri Lanka and hit a 37 ball century which included 11 sixes, another record. He broke Sanath Jayasuriya’s record of an ODI century in 48 balls and his record stood till Corey Anderson hit a 36 ball century against West Indies.
It’s another year to look back and learn and look forward in hope, to deliver for my nation and fans. I thank you all for wishing me birthday, all of you are the source of my joy and happiness #HopeNotOut pic.twitter.com/mtz2Ni14re

He holds the record for most wickets by a leg-spinner in ODIs (395), most sixes in ODIs (351) and most wickets in T20Is (97).
He also shares a good relationship with the Indian cricketers as well and Harbhajan Singh is one his fast friends. Another such admirer and friend of Afridi is Mohd Kaif.
