Cricket fraternity remembers and condoles the demise of actress Sridevi

Sridevi was in Dubai to attend her nephew's wedding when she suffered a cardiac arrest.

Sridevi was one of the biggest stars in the Bollywood, often commanding same price as her male counterparts

The nation received a severe shock when the tragic news of the demise of Bollywood icon Sridevi started filtering in early hours of 25th February. 

Sridevi was 54 years old and was currently in Dubai with her husband producer Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi, to attend the wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah.

Sridevi suffered a massive heart attack and the news of her demise was confirmed by Boney’s younger brother Sanjay Kapoor.

Sridevi was born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan on 13 August 1963 and started her career as a child artist in 1969 film Thunaivan at the age of four.

She made her debut in Hindi movies with 1979’s Solva Sawan. She gained superstardom with 1983’s Sadma and Himmatwala. From then on she went to dominate the Indian film industry with hits like Nagina, Chaalbaaz, Mr. India, Lamhe, Khuda Gawah, Laadla and Judaai.

Sridevi married Boney Kapoor and left the film industry at her peak in 1997 to raise her two daughters. Sridevi received the Padma Shri in 2013, after making her comeback in 2012 in English Vinglish.

The whole of the nation went into shock and even the cricketing fraternity couldn’t believe the news and shared their grief and condolences on Twitter.
