Cricket on ice? Sounds bizarre, isn't it? Former cricketers made it happen in Switzerland. St. Moritz saw Shahid Afridi-led Team Royals clashing with Virender Sehwag’s Badrutt’s Palace Diamonds in the first of the two encounters.

It was Afridi's team who won the inaugural match by six wickets. Diamonds batted first and set a target of 165 before the Royals chased it easily. Thanks to a fierce knock 74 by Owais Shah.

Afridi scored a duck in the match. He was dismissed off Ramesh Powar's delivery and Mohammad Kaif was the fielder to catch him. He posted a picture with the all-rounder and ignited a friendly banter with his caption.

He wrote, "You picked the wrong fielder again @SAfridiOfficial :) But great fun playing on ice for the first time and well played to your team."

Earlier, the Diamonds won the toss and opted to bat first. Skipper Sehwag scored a quickfire 62 of 31 balls. Along with him, Andrew Symonds added a handy 40. For the Royals, Abdul Razzaq went back with a figure of 4/18.

In reply, the Royals scored the target with 28 balls to spare.
