India women team’s premier fast bowler Jhulan Goswami became the first bowler in WODI history to pick up 200 wickets in her career.

Jhulan has played 166 WODIs and has picked up 200 wickets with a best bowling figure of 6/31 and has two 5 wicket hauls to her name. She is currently playing in the Indian team, who are taking on the South African women team in the ICC World Championship. India won the first two matches and Jhulan picked 4/24 in the first match and 1/29 in the second match.

Jhulan is the all time highest wicket taker in WODIs, a record she achieved in the ICC Women World Cup, when she left Australia’s Cathryn Fitzpatrick‘s record of 180 wickets behind.

Jhulan began her WODI career in 2002 against England at Chennai and has even led India in international cricket. She has truly been one of the best woman players to come out of India and is respected worldwide for her skills and abilities.

The cricket fraternity came together to celebrate and congratulate Jhulan on her wonderful achievement of 200 wickets in WODIs on Twitter.
