Bhuvneshwar Kumar is currently riding a golden run of form with bat and ball. It won't be wrong to say that he is now the spearhead of the Indian bowling attack in limited overs cricket and isn't far off being the same in Test cricket, especially overseas.
Bhuvi as he is fondly called, has contributed to the team's cause not just with the ball but also with the bat whenever required. His cameos have come in handy just when opposition teams thought they could go for the kill. Bhuvi, who was primarly known as a swing bowler has added a yard of pace and regularly hits the 140kmph mark on the speed gun.
Such has been the impact of Bhuvi especially with the white ball, that his IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad retained him along with their captain David Warner much before the recent auction. He was a key figure in their successful campaign in 2016 and will be expected to do the same in 2018.
As the Indian team is currently touring South Africa, the whole team got together to celebrate the birthday of one of the most popular players in the squad and gave Bhuvi a cake facial, something that has become a ritual within the team to celebrate every birthday of a team member.
Fast bowler Mohammed Shami shared a video on his Instagram account where we could see MS Dhoni grabbing Bhuvi tightly while he was smashed with a lot of cake from the team members.
