Team India congratulates India U19 team for their World Cup triumph in New Zealand

India U19 team has made the whole nation proud as they lifted the ICC U19 World Cup 2018 title by defeating Australian team in the finals today in New Zealand.

India successfully chased down Australia’s total of 216, losing just 2 wickets in the process. J Merlo was the highest scorer for Australian team with 76, while four of the Indian bowlers took two wickets each. Manjot Kalra guided the Indian team through the chase with a brilliant 101*. Harvik Desai hit 47*, as Shaw and Gill fell after gaining a good start to their innings.

The Indian team swarmed the field as the winning runs were hit and the team ran to coach Rahul Dravid once the trophy was presented to them and Dravid lifted the trophy high in the air and celebrated with his team.

The Indian senior team who are on the tour of South Africa had wished the India U19 team on the eve of the finals and followed the match until India lifted the trophy. The members of the senior team took to Twitter to wish the Indian colts on their great achievement.
