Cricket has seen a rise in the fielding standards. Except for the clean big hits, batsmen these days don't take a sigh of relief until the ball lands out of the boundary. We have seen fielders pulling off some blinders, both inside and outside the 30-yard circle.

This time in the Big Bash league, Glenn Maxwell plucked the ball out of thin air. The ball was firmly struck by Tim Ludeman of Melbourne Renegades, but he couldn't place it well. It came from the mid of the bat and had a boundary written all over it. However, Maxwell took no time to turn it into a disaster, thanks to his 'Jonty' effort.

This match gave Melbourne Stars their first victory of BBL. They have been the biggest disappointment of the BBL, losing their first five matches of the tournament.

The Stars clicked with the bat as Kevin Pietersen and Peter Handscomb piled on 110 runs for the second wicket after Ben Dunk was dismissed in the opening over. Maxwell's finish with an unbeaten 31 from 16 balls guided the Stars to 4/167 from their 20 overs.

The Renegades' destructive batsmen Cameron White and Aaron Finch were not playing the match and hence the target seemed to be out of reach from them. They were restricted to 9/144 from their 20 overs.

The Stars took regular wickets to prevent the home side from gaining any real momentum as only Dwayne Bravo (26), Nabi (23) and Jack Wildermuth (23) scored more than 20.
