Indian skipper Virat Kohli took a voluntary break from the game after the conclusion of the Test series against Sri Lanka. It fueled the rumours that he was going to get hitched with his girlfriend  Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.

Although, fans did not have to wait much for the good news, as the power couple broke the news of their wedding on social media on 11 December and put rest to all the speculations.

The couple took to their individual official Twitter handles and confirmed the news with a joint statement, “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”

The wedding of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma was one of the most talked events of the year 2017. Now, Twitter India issued a statement that Virushka’s wedding tweet become one of the most re-tweeted tweets of 2017 and took the crown for 2017’s Golden Tweet Of The Year.

Although, the newlyweds got hitched in a private affair in Italy attended by only their close friends and family; they hosted star-studded receptions in Delhi and Mumbai recently.

One of India’s most-loved couples –Virushka posted a picture of their wedding along with the tweet which won the millions of hearts and it went crazy viral in no time on the social media.
