Watch: MS Dhoni's match winning shot at Wankhede Stadium against Sri Lanka in the 3rd T20I

India clinched a 3-0 T20I series win against Sri Lanka.

MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik took India to the finishing line

India registered another series win this year after beating Sri Lanka in the third T20I at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. India had defeated them in Test and ODI series before the T20I series.

There is something about MS Dhoni, Wankhede Stadium and Sri Lanka. In 2011, MS Dhoni took India to the World Cup win at the same venue, by hitting a six and he did the same, albeit by hitting a four yesterday.

India needed just three of the final 6 balls as Dhoni wrapped it up with a boundary after taking a couple of runs of the first ball. It wasn't a six, but an ideal finish to Team India's 2017 for sure.

Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 135 runs in their allotted 20 overs. They recovered in the last few overs after a shaky batting in middle overs. The total wasn't looking enough initially, however, some good bowling and luck helped Sri Lanka to stretch the game to last over.

For India, Manish Pandey scored 32, Shreyas Iyer 30 and Rohit Sharma 27 to help them achieve the total inside 20 overs. When India lost a couple of quick wickets in the end, Dinesh Karthik's 18 and Dhoni's 16 helped them a lot.

However, skipper Rohit said after the game that they were capable of chasing any target here at Mumbai.

Here is the video of Dhoni's finishing shot:
