Rohit Sharma lit up the Holkar Stadium like a Christmas tree in the second T20I against Sri Lanka as he smacked 12 fours and 10 sixes in a world record equaling century.
He scored his century in just 35 balls, equaling the world record for fastest T20I century held by David Miller of South Africa. Rohit Sharma was scoring sixes and fours like it was a Hong Kong Super Sixes innings and added 165 runs with KL Rahul in just 13 overs.
Rohit Sharma’s 118 off 43 balls took India to their highest T20I score of 260/5. Rohit Sharma also scored his second T20I hundred and joined the list of Chris Gayle, Colin Munro, Brendon McCullum and Evin Lewis as batsmen with more than one centuries in T20Is.
Rohit Sharma’s feat was wonderful considering he just scored his 3rd ODI double hundred in Mohali ODI.
Twitter went nuts as Rohit Sharma murdered every Lankan bowler, and hit Thisara Perera for four sixes in an over.
Here are some tweets that are in awe of Rohit Sharma’s record making hundred:
Everytime you think you have seen it all, you see something incredible. Today, Rohit Sharma has shown us that. I admit I am gasping.
