Rohit Sharma tweets in admiration of Steve Smith’s double hundred at WACA against England

Steve Smith has scored his second century of the Ashes 2017/18.

Steve Smith is currently making England pay on the fastest pitch in the world at the WACA ground in Perth. Smith has scored his 22nd hundred in Tests, becoming the 3rd fastest to the milestone after Sir Don Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar and left Sachin Tendulkar behind.

Steve Smith has gone on to hit a double hundred in the ongoing Test and has put Australia in the front, on path of a series winning Test victory. Smith has been in terrific form this year, scoring 1,000 runs in the year for the fourth consecutive time, equaling the record of fellow Australian batsman Matthew Hayden.

Smith’s feat has left his peers in awe and many have shared their admiration on Twitter. One of such admirers of Steve Smith is current Indian ODI captain Rohit Sharma.

Sharma tweeted in admiration of Smith’s record making century saying,” What a player Steve Smith. Doesn’t look like he’s going to get out. Does he Well played #Ashes

Rohit Sharma himself is in rich vein of form, as he struck his third double century in ODIs in the second ODI at Mohali, against Sri Lanka. Rohit’s 208* took India to 392 runs, which the Indian bowlers defended easily, despite a fighting century by Angelo Mathews.

India equaled the 3 match ODI series against Sri Lanka, with the decider to be played on Sunday, 17the December, 2017 in Vishakhapatnam.
