Irfan Pathan criticizes people for dragging religion in Zaira Wasim incident

Zaira Wasim shared on Instagram that she had been molested on a flight.

An unfortunate incident happened with Dangal actress Zaira Wasim. Wasim had gone live on her Instagram account to inform her fans that was molested in the flight from Delhi to Mumbai. 

Zaira while narrating the act said, “I was sure of it. He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck. This is terrible. No one will help us if we don’t decide to help ourselves.”

Many come out in support, while few started targeting the victim only. 

Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan lashed out at people who unnecessarily dragged religion in the incident. He expressed his disappointment over the mentality of people making such comments. 

The Baroda cricketer tried to urge people to sort their mentality and keep religion away from such an incident like this which is nothing less than a shame for the entire society. 

The Mumbai police on Sunday had filed an FIR was filed against the alleged molester under section 354 IPC as well as under the POCSO Act. A team from the Mumbai police earlier visited Zaira Wasim's hotel in Mumbai to record her statement. 

The alleged molester has been arrested.

Earlier, the airlines put out a statement apologizing that the incident took place on their flight and stated that they are carrying out a detailed investigation. The airlines also stated that they have zero tolerance towards such behavior.
