Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is celebrating the 32nd birthday today (Dec 5). The opening batsman of the Indian cricket team is currently playing the series against Sri Lanka and will cut the birthday cake with his extended family.
Dhawan was always a key batsman for Indian cricket team, especially in the major ICC tournaments. He was the most runs scorer for India in Champions Trophy 2013, World Cup 2015 and the recently concluded Champions Trophy in which India lost in the final against Pakistan.
The 32-year-old had started his Test cricket in style. It suited his nickname 'Gabbar', He scored the fastest Test century by a player on debut. Shikhar managed to score a quick 187 runs in just 174 balls.
Dhawan shares a good bonding with the Indian cricketers. His teammates love his presence in the dressing room. Recently Hardik Pandya revealed that Shikhar is behind his latest haircut. “Shikhar Dhawan did this (talking about his hairdo). I asked Shikhar to remove very small amount but he removed the whole baal [hair],” the 24-year old said.
“I said chalo koi nahi nikallo, apni khud ki kheti hai [I said you remove it, it’s my own hair]. I can carry, I am pretty confident that I can carry it so it’s OK,” the right-hand batsman added.
Indian team's 'Big daddy D' turned 32 and cricket circle come out to wish Dhawan on his birthday. They shared their best wishes for the opener on Twitter.
