The legendary Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor, who acted in over 130 Hindi films on the silver screen and attracted millions of fans with his charm, died on Monday at the age of 79.
The actor-producer took his last breath at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
"Yes, he has passed away. He had a kidney problem and was on dialysis for several years," his nephew Randhir Kapoor, the son of the late Raj Kapoor, told PTI.

Shashi Kapoor gave us some unforgettable scenes from his movies. One of the most famous dialogues of Bollywood, "Mere paas Maa hai" from movie Deewaar, was delivered by Shashi Kapoor. His legendary film career started as a child actor in the 1940s and 50s.

His first leading role was in the award-winning 1961 Dharmputra, directed by Yash Chopra, which was one of the first Indian features to deal with partition.
The demise of the veteran actor has left many stunned. Big personalities, from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Aamir Khan have tweeted their condolences after Shashi Kapoor's death.
Cricket fraternity also expressed their grief over the death of the famed B-town actor.
